Welcome to WAGS new Blog site. WAGS Logo

We are currently rebuilding this site, so please bear with us while we undertake this task.

We will include some new articles as we reconstruct the old after an internet cellar dweller used their nefarious skills to ensure the old WAGS blog was taken down.

Cheers,

You may well ask - Why have a WAGS blog?

We have asked the same question of ourselves for some time now, and had conflicting answers.

Some have suggested that we already have a Forum and a Website and don't need a Blog, others have said that our members would benefit from having a less formal avenue such as a blog, for items of interest which may not normally be posted on our website, to be made available more broadly to members and the genealogy community.

So, after much mulling - here we are!

An avenue for WAGS, WAGS Affiliated Societies, and WAGS members to contribute to the knowledge of genealogy and family history in the community at large.

Posts will include items about the comings and goings at WAGS; library updates; WAGS Affiliated Societies; our Special Interest Groups; items on Western Australian pioneers and the convicts who landed on our shores; local history; WAGS website; computers and technology; scams and spam; tech tips; happenings in the world of family history and genealogy in general; links to items of interest covered elsewhere; and occasional musings.

WAGS Affiliated Societies are encouraged to provide updates of their activities, and information about their local and family history in their geographic areas.WAGS members are invited to provide items for inclusion in the WAGS Blog.

To have an item posted, please email your item to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
